Orlando is a 26 year-old Chinese boy who moved to Italy one and half years ago for his talent and pursuing his passion.
He’s an Opera singer, precisely a tenor, and this is what pushed him to change his life moving to Italy, the homeland of Opera - for a short time or permanently, that’s a decision that he’ll still need to make.
He firstly spent six months in Rome studying Italian and then he enrolled in the “Conservatorio Francesco Cilea” in Reggio Calabria. He spends his days between lessons and singing, both at home and at the Conservatory. In here Orlando is having more possibilities to discover Italian culture from every point of view and, at the same time, he’s meeting people from all over the world, from Egypt to England, from Morocco to Norway. It’s like he has made a world tour living in Italy and who knows if he’s gonna do it or not one day for real.
But when he’s alone at home, his mind and heart only go to his family and best friends, who are thousands of miles away from him and with whom he can only talk by texting messages and having video calls. Despite everything, their relationship is becoming stronger and stronger day by day, because, as Arthur Schopenhauer said, “the distance that makes objects smaller to the eye, enlarges them at the thoughts”.
